SUNDAY COLLECTION
Last weekend's collection amounted to £823.16.
We are grateful for your generous support of the Parish. Banker's Orders amount
to an average of £4400 per month.
BANKER'S
ORDERS, GIFT AID AND WILLS
Have you thought of using a Bankers Order? It assists
us with the safe handling of cash. Have you signed a Gift Aid Form? If you pay
tax, then every £1 you give to the Parish is worth £1.28 to us. Would
you consider remembering Saint Peter's in your will?
PARISH CENTRE COLLECTION
Last weekend's collection for the Parish Centre amounted to £334.33 - many
thanks.
READERS
Next weekend's readers are Jim Brogan Vigil, Annie
Watt 10.00 am and Tom Reid 12 00 noon.
BULLETIN AND WORSHIP SHEETS
Notices for inclusion in the Bulletin need to be here by Thursday of each week.
After Mass we would be grateful if you would return the worship sheets to the
boxes for use at a later Mass.
SCOTTISH
CATHOLIC INTERNATIONAL AID FUND (SCIAF) BOXES
SCIAF acknowledges £1079.76
from the boxes you so generously fill and hand in regularly. Please continue to
help our poorest brothers and sisters.
THREE
TOWNS CHURCHES CRUISE
The Charity Evening Cruise will take place on Wednesday
30 July. All the churches in Ardrossan are combining for the cruise. Profits go
the Vine Trust for work in South America. The cruise leaves Ardrossan Harbour
at 6.15 pm and should return around 9.15 pm. Tickets are £18 and £8.
Our allocation has now gone but it may be possible to get you some tickets if
you are interested but there is a waiting list.
SAINT
PETER'S CHILDREN'S CENTRE
Afternoon places are available in Saint Peter's
Nursery starting in August 2008. For more information and an application form,
please contact Josephine Coulter.
WORLD
YOUTH DAY MINI RAFFLE
Last weekend's raffle for World Youth Day raised £140.
Many thanks for your continuing generosity.
CATHOLIC NEWSPAPERS
Each
week, we have copies of the Scottish Catholic Observer and The Universe available
for sale. They are informative on events happening in the Catholic world in Scotland
and the rest of the world. Perhaps you could reserve your copy at the stall. This
would ensure that we order enough and not too many.
FATHER
JOHN
We
will do our best to support Father
John in Tanzania.
A fund, for legal reasons separate from the Parish Accounts, will be opened as
a way of sending help to Father
John. This is safer than sending help to him directly. Cheques should be made
payable to Father John
Fundraising Account. Some events have already been arranged and more ideas will
be welcomed. The
Tanzanian auction was held on Wednesday and raised £520 - what a great start.
Please look out for or plan more events to raise money for Father
John. He
is delighted that we are thinking about him in Africa. Lilian's
Afternoon Tea will take place on Friday 27 June from 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm. A suggested
donation for afternoon tea and home baking is £3. Everyone is welcome.
There will be
a sponsored walk on Saturday 5 July at 10.00 am. Bring the family and a picnic.
Walk from Saint Peter's to the Waterside Inn, Seamill, have a picnic and walk
back at your leisure. For sponsor forms contact Marlene Crichton.
IGNATIAN
PRAYER GROUP
The Ignatian Prayer Group meets in the Parish Centre on the first Wednesday of
the month at 7.30 pm, the second Tuesday at 7.30 pm and the last Tuesday at 2.00
pm.
URGENT - HUMAN EMBRYOLOGY AND FERTILISATION BILL
The Human Embryology
and Fertilisation Bill and other 'life' legislation comes back to the Commons
soon for final reading. Please take time to write to Katy Clark MP and ask her
to reconsider her vote. Template letters are available. Thanks.
THANKS
TO THE VOLUNTEERS
The Parish has a volunteer Health and Safety Officer after
last week's appeal. We have all the paperwork, the rules, the diocesan manual
and so on. We have a trainer and two volunteers from North Ayrshire Community
Involvement Project who work hard on a Friday tidying bushes and the grounds.
We also have a volunteer 'computer geek' who keeps the network running.
THANKS TO THE GIRL GUIDES
Thanks to the Girl Guides for the £600 raised
at the Fete and donated to the Parish Centre.

Bishop Cunningham will celebrate a Mass of thanksgiving for all
the hard work and dedication given to the Church by all volunteers in parishes.
The Mass will be celebrated in Saint Margaret's Cathedral, Ayr on Sunday 14 September
at 3.30 pm. A good attendance would be greatly appreciated as this is the first
time a Mass of thanksgiving has been held. Notices for numbers will be displayed
in August to ascertain whether a bus should be ordered.

PROTECTION
OF CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS - MISSION STATEMENT
The Catholic Church in
Scotland is concerned with the lives, safety, wholeness and well-being of each
individual person within God's purpose for everyone. It seeks to safeguard the
welfare of people of all ages who are involved in whatever capacity with the Church
and its organisations. As a Church community, we accept that it is the responsibility
of all of us, ordained, professed, paid and voluntary members, to work together
to prevent the physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect of children, young
people and vulnerable adults.
