SACRAMENT OF FORGIVENESS
The Sacrament of Forgiveness is available at any suitable time as well as
from 4.30 pm before the Vigil Mass on Saturday evenings.

Canon Matt is on holiday in Chester
this week with the priests he was ordained with - Canon Joe McMullen, Father
John Kinsler, Cardinal Keith O’Brien and Canon John Creanor. He will be back
on Friday evening.
PARISH
OFFICE
The parish Office will be closed on Easter Monday with business as usual from
Tuesday onwards. Father Bell is in Saint Mary’s, Saltcoats (463461) and Father
Poland is in Saint John's, Stevenston (463225).
PUBLIC
MEETING
There will be a public meeting in
Ardrossan Civic Centre on Tuesday 17 April at 7.00 pm to discuss the redevelopment
of the Castlehill area and the Castle and to hear of new partnership working
with North Ayrshire Council.
Everyone is welcome.
CHURCH REPAIRS
We have a lot of maintenance to take care of. We have any number of leaks
and the Church needs painting. Brown envelope donations of £50 bring
the total to £1559.50.
AYRSHIRE HOSPICE LAND O’BURNS MIDNIGHT WALK
You are invited to join Frank Bruno MBE in the Land o' Burns Sponsored Midnight
Walk on Saturday 19 May, Ayrshire Hospice's largest community fundraiser when
you will have the choice of completing either the full route of thirteen miles
or shortened versions of around nine or four miles starting and finishing
at Ayr Racecourse. There will be lots of entertainment before and during the
walk and a welcomed revival coffee and bacon roll at the end. For further

USED PRINTER CARTRIDGES AND OLD MOBILE PHONES
There is now a large green box in the foyer of the Parish Centre and a small
box at the stall where you can place all old printer cartridges and mobile
phones for us to recycle. Through recycling these we can raise some much needed
funds. Thanks.
SAINT MATTHEW’S ACADEMY PARENT COUNCIL
The Parent Council of Saint Matthew's Academy, Saltcoats requires a clerk
for its monthly meetings. The rate is £7.50 per hour and meeting, preparation
and writing-up time amount to four hours per month. Meeting are on a Monday
evening in the Academy. Full details are available from from Michael Sharkey

WALKING
WITH THE POOR
Father
Martin Chambers has written a book called Walking With The Poor giving information
on his time in South America. The book is on sale at £8 and all proceeds
are for his Mission Project.
BROWNIES
The 1st Ardrossan Brownies are looking for new members. Girls
aged between seven and ten are welcome to join the group which meets in Stanley
School on Mondays from 6.00 to 7.30 pm. Please contact Maria Paterson on or

also looking for new members. Girls aged between seven and ten are welcome
to join the group which meets in Saint Peter’s Parish Centre on Thursdays

PAPAL BLESSINGS
Papal Blessings for a wedding,
wedding anniversary or a special birthday can be ordered at the stall. The
cost of the parchment and postage is about £30. Please leave plenty
of time.

New Missals containing the new Rite are now available at the stall £7.99
or £9.99.
LARGE PRINT MASS BOOKS
Mass Books in Polish are available from the stall. Sunday Readings in most
European languages can be printed from the parish website.
VISITORS
Are you visiting us for Mass? Please know that you are very welcome. During
the 10.00 am Mass there is a Children’s Liturgy provided for preschool children,
children in Primaries 1 to 3 and a Sacramental Programme for children in Primary
4. After the 10.00 am Mass, tea, coffee cakes and buns are available in the
Parish Centre. At all of our weekend Masses, we have a second collection for
our Parish Centre debt.
SUNDAY LUNCH FOR SENIOR PARISHIONERS
A Sunday Lunch for senior parishioners will be held on Sunday 22 April at
1.00 pm in the Parish Centre. It needs to be on a 'first come, first served'
basis and it is for senior parishioners and carer if required. Tickets are
now available to pick up at the stall or the Parish Office. They can be reserved
by phoning the Parish Office on 464063. We are glad provide this for our senior
citizens at no cost.
SACRAMENTS OF CONFIRMATION AND FIRST COMMUNION
We have chosen three Sundays this year because of the number of children being
presented for the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Communion. The dates
are Sundays 13, 20 and 27 May at the 10.00 am Mass.
