SACRAMENT OF FORGIVENESS
The Sacrament of Forgiveness is available at any suitable time as well as from 4.30 pm before the Vigil Mass on Saturday evenings.

OFFERTORY COLLECTION
Last weekend's Offertory collection amounted to £722.63 - many thanks. We are grateful for your generous support of the parish and the diocese to which we pay a monthly levy of £1250.

PARISH CENTRE COLLECTION
Last weekend's collection for the Parish Centre amounted to
£360.71 - many thanks.

MISSION APPEAL
A Sister of the Franciscan Missionaries for Africa is here for a Mission Appeal this weekend.

BANKER'S ORDERS
Have you thought of using a Bankers Order? It assists us with the safe handling of cash. Banker's Orders for the Parish and Centre amount to an average of £3800 per month. Forms are available.

GIFT AID
Have you signed a Gift Aid Form? If you pay tax, then every £1 you give to the Parish is worth £1.28 to us. Forms are available.

WILLS
Would you consider remembering Saint Peter's in your will?

READERS
Next weekend's readers are Margaret Munn at 5.30 pm, Robert Cooper at 10.00 am and Alfie Agostini at 12 noon.

ALTAR SERVERS
Next weekend's altar servers are Group 1 at 5.30 pm and Group 4 at 10.00 am.

SUNDAY TEAS
Next Sunday's teas will be served by Maria Hilferty’s team.

CHILDREN'S LITURGY
The Children's Liturgy is run by volunteers on a rota basis. We are in need of more volunteers for the coming August session. Anyone can volunteer! As it takes a little time to gain disclosure, we need to think ahead. Please consider becoming a volunteer, especially if your child is currently in Primary 3 as they will be taking part in the Sacramental Preparation next year or if your child will be joining our three to five year olds Liturgy Group in August. If you are interested, please contact the Parish Office on 464063.

SEVEN YEARS OF SAINT PETER'S WEBSITE
Saint Peter's website was launched seven years ago on 13 July 2005. The site has over 1500 web pages, 880 pictures, 420 bulletins between 1960 and 2012, 12800 links, some audio and video clips, has been viewed in 70 countries worldwide and had over 77000 'hits'. Over 1150 of our deceased relatives and friends are remembered in our anniversary list. The site contains many articles on past and present spiritual and community life in Saint Peter's. Canon Matt and the website author are very grateful to those who have accessed the site, lent photographs, passed on stories, identified errors, made suggestions and expressed compliments. The aims of the site are to make parishioners aware of current events and record our history. If you can help with this project, please contact
WebsiteAuthor@SaintPeterinChains.net.

ANNUAL PILGRIMAGE TO WHITHORN
The annual pilgrimage to Whithorn takes place on Sunday 26 August. Mass will be celebrated at Saint Ninian’s Cave at 4.00 pm and in Saint Ninian’s Church at 4.45 pm.

THE THREE TOWNS PARISHES
Thank you for your responses to the consultation on Masses in the Three Towns. If we work at what two priests could offer then we must reduce the Sunday Masses to six - one Vigil, four morning and
one evening - and the weekday Masses to ten - two each day. There would be special arrangements for funerals. We are discussing it.

LAPEL CROSSES
Cardinal O’Brien called on all Catholics to 'wear a cross with pride' these days. We have a few lapel crosses available at the stall.

50/50 CLUB
Thanks to all 50/50 Club members for their continued support and good luck in the next draw. Please remember to let the Promoter have your details should you have a new address, since winning cheques are posted directly to our members.

ARRAN SAIL
The weather next week is not promising. We could look at the week after for the Arran Sail on Wednesday 8 August. A decision will be made nearer the time. If you plan to go and it is fine, it is on. If the weather is poor, phone on the Wednesday morning or check the website.

CHRISTIAN AID BARBECUE
As a replacement for not taking part in the door to door collection during Christian Aid Week, we are having a Barbecue and stalls on the afternoon of Sunday 12 August. All the churches in Ardrossan will take part. If you would like to have a stall where the profits are yours in exchange for a £10 fee and a donation to Christian Aid, then please let us know. Tickets for the Barbecue - in reality a donation for Christian Aid - will soon be available for £1. It is no reflection on the cooks but Strathclyde Fire and Rescue Service is sending along a fire engine. You might like to look it over.

CHURCH REPAIRS
The help you give for Church repairs by dropping in a white envelope from time to time is invaluable. We are in the process of getting estimates for the painting of the Church. Recent donations of £100 bring the total to £3284.50.

PAPAL BLESSINGS
Papal Blessings for a wedding, wedding anniversary or a special birthday can be ordered at the stall. The price of the parchment and postage has gone up drastically. We now have to ask £40 for the Blessing. Please leave plenty of time.

NEW MISSAL
New Missals containing the new Rite are now available at the stall £7.99 or £9.99.

LARGE PRINT MASS BOOKS
Mass Books in Polish are available from the stall. Sunday Readings in most European languages can be printed from the parish website.

NOVENA CANDLES
There is a nice selection of Novena Candles available at the stall.

MARY’S MEALS
The team from Mary's Meals will be here on Sunday 2 September to collect used clothing, textiles and so on. They cannot take anything else. Have a wardrobe clear-out to support this important Charity.

ADVERTISER SUPPORT
Our advertisers would welcome your support. We are grateful for their continuing sponsorship. We are grateful for the support of Mr and Mrs Sohal, Nisa Stores, Glasgow Street for the weekly donation of tea, coffee and milk for the Sunday teas.

USED PRINTER CARTRIDGES AND OLD MOBILE PHONES
There is a large green box in the foyer of the Parish Centre and a small box at the stall where you can place all old printer cartridges and mobile phones for us to recycle. Through recycling these we can raise some much needed funds. Thanks.

VISITORS
Are you visiting us for Mass? Please know that you are very welcome. During the 10.00 am Mass there is a Children’s Liturgy provided for preschool children, children in Primaries 1 to 3 and a Sacramental Programme for children in Primary 4. After the 10.00 am Mass, tea, coffee cakes and buns are available in the Parish Centre. At all of our weekend Masses, we have a second collection for our Parish Centre debt.

PROTECTION OF CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS - MISSION STATEMENT
The Catholic Church in Scotland is concerned with the lives, safety, wholeness and well-being of each individual person within God's purpose for everyone. It seeks to safeguard the welfare of people of all ages who are involved in whatever capacity
with the Church and its organisations. As a Church community, we accept that it is the responsibility of all of us, ordained, professed, paid and voluntary members, to work together to prevent the physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
