LENT
We are in the holy season of Lent. It is a time of prayer, fasting and sharing.

SUNDAY MASS TIMES
Sunday Mass times in Saint Peter's are 5.30 pm Vigil and 10.30 am. Sunday Mass times in other local parishes can be seen here.

SACRAMENT OF FORGIVENESS
The Sacrament of Forgiveness is available at any suitable time as well as from 4.30 pm before the Vigil Mass on Saturday evenings.

OFFERTORY COLLECTION
Last weekend's Offertory collection amounted to £636.81 - many thanks. We are grateful for your generous support of the parish and the diocese to which we pay a monthly levy of £1250.

CHURCH STUDENTS' FUND COLLECTION
Last weekend's collection for the
Church Students' Fund amounted to £418.20 - many thanks.

SCOTTISH CATHOLIC INTERNATIONAL AID FUND (SCIAF)
The Fourth Sunday of Lent is when we have our annual collection for SCIAF. Also, please use the 'wee box' during Lent.

CHURCH REPAIRS
The help you give for Church repairs by dropping in a white envelope from time to time is invaluable. Recent donations of £10 bring the total to £5564.50. We have a continuing task in keeping the Church wind and watertight.

BANKER'S ORDERS
Have you thought of using a Bankers Order? It assists us with the safe handling of cash. Banker's Orders for the Parish and Centre amount to an average of £3800 per month. Forms are available.

GIFT AID
Gift Aid is a vital source of income. All that is needed is that you pay tax. You simply declare that you give funds to the Church. We do the rest. Why not sign a form today? We get back an extra 25p for every £1 you give the Church in your weekly collection or by way of a donation. There is no need to cancel or renew it. We simply claim in the income we receive.

WILLS
Would you consider remembering Saint Peter's in your will?

READERS
Next weekend's readers are Elsie Brodie at 5.30 pm and Tom Reid at 10.30 am.

ALTAR SERVERS
Next weekend's altar servers are Group 2 at 5.30 pm and Group 4 at 10.30 am.

SUNDAY TEAS
Next Sunday's teas will be served by Annie Thompson’s team.

MASS FOR THE ELECTION OF A NEW POPE

CLOTHING APPEAL IN AID OF CHERNOBYL CHILDREN'S LIFELINE
We will have another group of sixteen children coming from the Ukraine to Ayrshire from 18 February to 18 March and again we are looking for donations of new pyjamas, underwear and socks for boys and girls aged nine to fourteen years. NEW HOST FAMILIES NEEDED FOR CHERNOBYL CHILDREN'S LIFELINE
We are always looking for new host families to help look after the children during their visit to Ayrshire. We desperately need families for our summer visit from mid-July to mid-August 2013. If you think you could help in any way, please or you want some more information, please call Michael Lafferty on 07813 650411. The Ozanam Centre assists the homeless, both male and female, so any donations of either male of female toiletries would be very gratefully received. A box will be placed in the Church porch for any donations and we hope that we can rely on your usual very generous support. Thank you.

YEAR OF FAITH
To mark the Year of Faith, the Bishops of Scotland have set up a special website and social media feeds to help us learn about all that is happening at local, national and international level and to assist us to grow in faith during this time of grace. The address is www.YearOfFaithScotland.com In addition, special services will be provided via Facebook and Twitter, offering news, points for reflection and ideas on how to mark the Year of Faith. Please consider following www.facebook.com/yearoffaithscotland and www.twitter.com/scotyearoffaith.

LOURDES
This year’s Jumbulance pilgrimage to Lourdes takes place from 25 April to 4 May. There are places available for both helpers and assisted pilgrims. The Jumbulance is operated by ACROSS and designed to allow even those who would be unable to fly the opportunity to go on pilgrimage to Lourdes. At present, this group is the only one based in our diocese, originating in Hurlford, but is open to all of Galloway Diocese and indeed beyond. SCOTTISH CHURCHES STARTER PACKS
Starter Packs is an initiative of the Scottish Churches organised locally by Women's Aid. When people are allocated a house, they very often don’t have the basic necessities and many tenancies fail as a result. This initiative tries to provide a starter pack. There is a leaflet explaining our part in it.
