FINANCES
Bankers Orders the Parish and Parish Centre amount to £3800 per month. Every month, we pay off our Parish Centre debt by £3000 and pay a levy of £1450 to the Diocese. We are grateful for your generous support in collections. If you can manage a little more from time to time, it would be a great help. Have you thought of using a Bankers Order? It assists us with the safe handling of cash. Banker's Orders for the Parish and Centre amount to an average of £3800 per month. Forms are available. Would you consider remembering Saint Peter's in your will?

OFFERTORY COLLECTION
Last weekend's Offertory collection amounted to £673.44 - many thanks.

PARISH CENTRE COLLECTION
Last weekend's collection for
the Parish Centre amounted to £269.99 - many thanks.

RETIRED PRIESTS' FUND
COLLECTION
There will be a special collection this weekend for the Retired Priests' Fund
.

CHURCH REPAIRS
The help you give for Church repairs by dropping in a white envelope from time to time is invaluable. We have a continuing task in keeping the Church wind and watertight. New doors have been installed in the Parish Centre. We are grateful for a recent donation of £10.

GIFT AID
The Inland Revenue now requires us to use a new style of Gift Aid form. These are available at the back of the Church. If you pay tax, please complete the new form and return it to the box provided. This allows us to provide the additional information required on the Gift Aid claim. Gift Aid is a vital source of income. All that is needed is that you pay tax. You simply declare that you give funds to the Church. We do the rest. Why not sign a form today? We get back an extra 25p for every £1 you give the Church in your weekly collection or by way of a donation. There is no need to cancel or renew it. We simply claim in the income we receive.

READERS
Next weekend's readers are Julie Coldwell at 5.30 pm and Patricia Milligan at 10.30 am.

ALTAR SERVERS
Next weekend's altar servers are AM at 5.30 pm and Group 2 at 10.30 am.

Next week's helpers are Claire Sweenie and Linda Martin for the pre-fives and Michelle Morton, Michelle Noble and Andrena Hughes for primaries 1 to 3.

WELCOME TO MR STEPHEN COLLIGAN
Mr Stephen Colligan, Head Teacher of Saint Matthew’s Academy is joining us at the 10.30 am Mass today. This is our opportunity to welcome him and his opportunity to introduce himself.

SEVENTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY OF SAINT PETER'S
Our Church, Saint Peter in Chains, was opened on 2 October 1938 which means it will be seventy-five years open this October. We are looking to arrange some small celebration of the event. Were you at the opening Mass? It would be good to have a list of those who were there - perhaps, your parents or family friends, and so on. George McGrattan will compile a list. There will be a celebration Mass at 5.30 pm on Saturday 5 October and a buffet supper after Mass with music and time to chat. The Saint Vincent de Paul Society will lay on a bus for Mass and supper. Please give names to the Parish Office on any member of the Society. I will be looking for helpers later and some more ideas. We are grateful to those who have given us old photos associated with our Church's history. The picture below shows an artist impression of the proposed Church in November 1936.

REFUGEES FROM SYRIA
The plight of the Syrian refugees is terrible to see on television and in reports from the Aid Agencies. The Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund (SCIAF) has sent envelopes you can use to make a donation. We will send them on and there are other ways to help. Pope Francis and the Bishops have asked us all to pray for the situation in Syria.

MARY’S MEALS CLOTHING AND TEXTILES COLLECTION
The team from Mary's Meals will be here on the weekend of 21 and 22 September to collect used clothing and textiles. They cannot take anything else. Have a wardrobe clear-out to support this important charity.

MARY'S MEALS
Thank you for the backpacks donated to Mary's Meals. Last week we filled a further 33 backpacks to send to Malawi, making a total of 983 to date. As this is an ongoing project, we are looking for more backpacks, tee-shirts, shorts, skirts, summer dresses, flip-flops and sandals to fit children
aged five to twelve. All donated items, which can be new or in good condition, should be left in the box in the Church porch.

SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY ANNUAL MASS
The Annual Mass for the Saint Vincent de Paul Society and Blessing of the Sick will take place in Saint Margaret's Cathedral, Ayr on Thursday 26 September at 7.00 pm.

CATHEDRAL SUNG EVENING PRAYER
Evening Prayer of the Church will be sung in Saint Margaret’s Cathedral, Ayr at 6.00 pm to mark the Feast of Saint Ninian. You will be very welcome.

SAINT MATTHEW’S ACADEMY MASS
On Monday 16 September at 7.00 pm, Bishop John will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving to mark Eric Allan’s time as Head Teacher. Everyone is welcome.

VISITORS
Are you visiting us for Mass? Please know that you are very welcome. During the 10.30 am Mass outwith holidays, there is a Children’s Liturgy provided for preschool children, children in Primaries 1 to 3 and a Sacramental Programme for children in Primary 4. After the 10.30 am Mass, tea, coffee cakes and buns are available in the Parish Centre. At both of our weekend Masses, we have a second collection for our Parish Centre debt.
