Mass times in other local parishes can be
seen here.
OUR SEVENTY-FIFTH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
Very many thanks to all who helped celebrated our seventy-fifth anniversary.
The short
history of our parish was beautifully presented by George McGrattan. The
buffet supper was excellent and the Mass was prayerful and nostalgic so very
many thanks to everyone. We’ll do it again in 2038.
SACRAMENT OF FORGIVENESS
The Sacrament of Forgiveness is available at any suitable time as well as
from 4.30 pm before the Vigil Mass on Saturday evenings.
FINANCES
Bankers Orders the Parish and Parish Centre amount to £3800 per month.
Every month, we pay off our Parish Centre debt by £3000 and pay a levy
of £1450 to the Diocese. We are grateful for your generous support in
collections. If you can manage a little more from time to time, it would be
a great help. Have you thought of using a Bankers Order? It assists us with
the safe handling of cash. Banker's Orders for the Parish and Centre amount
to an average of £3800 per month. Forms are available. Would you consider
remembering Saint Peter's in your will?
OFFERTORY COLLECTION
Last weekend's Offertory collection amounted to £738.52 - many thanks.
PARISH
CENTRE COLLECTION
Last weekend's collection for the Parish Centre
amounted to £326.36
- many thanks.
SPECIAL COLLECTION FOR MISSIO
There will be a special collection next weekend for Missio. Gift Aid envelopes
will be available in the pews.
CHURCH REPAIRS
The help you give for Church repairs by dropping in a white envelope from
time to time is invaluable. We have a continuing task in keeping the Church
wind and watertight.
GIFT AID
The Inland Revenue now requires us to use a new style of Gift Aid form. These
are available at the back of the Church. If you pay tax, please complete the
new form and return it to the box provided. This allows us to provide the
additional information required on the Gift Aid claim. Gift Aid is a vital
source of income. All that is needed is that you pay tax. You simply declare
that you give funds to the Church. We do the rest. Why not sign a form today?
We get back an extra 25p for every £1 you give the Church in your weekly
collection or by way of a donation. There is no need to cancel or renew it.
We simply claim in the income we receive.
READERS
Next weekend's readers are Harry Sammons at 5.30
pm and Tom Reid at 10.30 am.

patients going into Crosshouse Hospital, or any hospital, must 'opt in' to
have a priest or chaplain visit them while they are in hospital otherwise
the priest or chaplain will not be given information as to who they are, or
their whereabouts. Alternatively, your parish priest, or a relative can get
in contact with Deacon Bill and let him know who is in hospital and requires

ROSARY BEADS
Father Stephen Sharkey has written from Afghanistan asking for rosary beads
- used or new - for the soldiers. Most soldiers - Catholic or otherwise -
want to carry a set of rosary beads as they go out on patrol. Father Stephen
talks to them about superstition and encourages them to pray - but he always
tries to give rosaries when asked for them. Can you help? Leave them with
Betty at the stall. Thanks.
DAY OF REFLECTION FOR THOSE INTERESTED IN THE PRIESTHOOD
There will be a day of reflection for those interested in the priesthood on
Saturday 19 October in Saint Mary's Church, Irvine. Please phone Father Wilie

REFUGEES FROM SYRIA
The plight of the Syrian refugees is terrible to see on television and in
reports from the Aid Agencies. The Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund
(SCIAF) has sent envelopes you can use to make a donation. We will send them
on and there are other ways to help. Pope Francis and the Bishops have asked
us all to pray for the situation in Syria.

The next 50/50 Club draw will be at the end of October. New members are very
welcome at any time. Our thanks to our members for their continuing support

HOLY LAND PILGRIMAGE 2014

Pilgrimage to the Holy Land in early October 2014. At the moment, he is simply
asking for people interested in taking part in such a Pilgrimage to express
their interest by contacting him in one of the ways outlined on the poster.

It seeks to safeguard the welfare of people of all ages who are involved in
whatever capacity with
the Church and its organisations. As a Church community, we accept that it
is the responsibility of all of us, ordained, professed, paid and

abuse or neglect of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
