Mass times in other local parishes can be
seen here.

The Sacrament of Forgiveness is available at any suitable time as well as
from 4.30 pm before the Vigil Mass on Saturday evenings.
HOSPITAL
CHAPLAINCY
If a member of your family or a friend is sick, please let us know and give
us the details. Deacon Bill Corbett (01292 521208, 07904 248948, Rev.BillCorbett@btinternet.com)
is the chaplain to Crosshouse Hospital and is assisted by the priest on call
each week. Canon Pat Keegans (01292 263488) is the chaplain to Ayr Hospital
and the Ayrshire Hospice.
FINANCES
Bankers Orders for the Parish and Parish Centre amount to £3800 per
month. Every month, we pay a levy of £1450 to the Diocese. We are grateful
for your generous support in collections. If you can manage a little more
from time to time, it would be a great help. A Standing Order would make the
handling of money so much easier. Have you signed a Gift Aid form? If you
are a taxpayer the Church would get 25p added to every £1 you donate.
COLLECTIONS
Last weekend's Offertory collection amounted to £928.75 and the Maintenance
Fund collection to £704.94 - many thanks.
GIFT AID
The Inland Revenue now requires us to use a new style of Gift
Aid form. These are available at the back of the Church and on the parish
website. If you pay tax, please complete the new form and return it to the
box provided. This allows us to provide the additional information required
on the Gift Aid claim. Gift Aid is a vital source of income. All that is needed
is that you pay tax. You simply declare that you give funds to the Church.
We do the rest. Why not sign a form today? We get back an extra 25p for every
£1 you give the Church in your weekly collection or by way of a donation.
There is no need to cancel or renew it. We simply claim in the income we receive.
PARISH RECORDS
Our parish records are covered by the Data Protection Act and are for parish
use only. We cannot give out phone numbers or addresses. Please help us to
keep our records up to date using the cards provided.
READERS
Next weekend's readers are Ronnie Cairns at 5.30
pm and Angela Body and Ami Paterson at 10.30 am.
ALTAR SERVERS
Next weekend's altar servers are Group 1 at 5.30
pm and Group 2 at 10.30 am.
CHILDREN’S
LITURGY
The
Children's Liturgy is celebrated during the 10.30 am Mass each Sunday. All

SUNDAY
TEAS

Would
you consider making a team or joining a team that organises the teas and coffees
after Sunday 10.30 am Mass? If so, please leave your details at the Parish
Office or telephone 01294 464063.

honour of Miss Patricia Barry, former head teacher of Saint Peter's School
who died on 6 August 2015, in Saint Peter's Church on Monday 23 May at 1.00
pm. It could be busy, but you are welcome.

place on Sunday 12 June. Full details on poster or at www.StMargaretsDunfermline.co.uk.
SPRING CONCERT
Join Hart Voices on Saturday 28 May 2016 at 7.00 pm after Mass in the Church
for an evening of light choral music. Conducted by Roy Rashbrook of the choir
of Saint Paul's Cathedral, London, the choir is from Fleet, Hampshire and
this exclusive, one-off concert is part of its first ever Scottish tour. It
is organised by Clare Thomas, formerly of Saltcoats who is a member of this
choir. Tickets cost £10, £7 for concessions and are free for under-16s.
They are on sale at Cavani's, Hamilton Street, Saltcoats, Saint Peter's Parish

BETHLEHEM ART
Bishop Nolan has authorised a visit
by Bethlehem Art with proceeds to help the Christian Community in Palestine.
Olive wood carvings from Bethlehem will be on display and for sale on the
weekend of 28 and 29 May.
EMBRACING CHANGE - PENTECOST SUNDAY
" ... and how they had recognised Him in the breaking of bread."
Last Sunday's journey with Saint Mary's Deanery was very prayerful and interesting.
About one hundred from the deanery attended and most made the pilgrimage from
Saint Mary's
where we heard the Word of God to Saint Peter's for the Eucharist. It is something
we might try to repeat next Pentecost.
CHURCH DOORS
Before another winter hits us, we need to replace the Church doors. The main
doors swell badly in the rain and are impossible to open and shut properly.
Because the Church is an A-Listed building, more durable replacement doors
need to be specially made. This is being done but the total cost of main and
side doors will be over £10000. I need to make an appeal to you for
help. Brown envelopes will be available and any fundraising you can organise
will be extremely useful. Extra in the second collection is a perfect way
of helping. So far, donations total £2378.
DEANERY GET TOGETHER
A Deanery Picnic-Get Together-Fun Day will be held in the grounds of Saint
Bride's Church, West Kilbride on the afternoon of Sunday 5 June at 2.30
pm. The bouncy castle is not compulsory but the picnic is necessary and children
a useful option.
SAINT PADRE PIO INTERCESSORY PRAYER GROUP
The Saint Padre Pio Intercessory Prayer Group, which includes the Chaplet
of Divine Mercy, will start again on Friday 6 May and thereafter on the first
Friday of each month, usually after Mass, from 10.45 to 11.45 am. All are
welcome.
COLLECTION ENVELOPES
New collection envelopes are still available at the stall.
SAINT PETER'S CHILDREN'S CENTRE
Saint Peter's Children's Centre is having a fun filled Art Event with Liz
from the Creation Station on Friday 3 June from 10.00 to 11.30 am in the Parish
Centre. Help your child to discover the joy of art. This is a community event
and is free of charge. It is suitable for children under three years old.
Tea, coffee, toast and children's snacks will be provided at a cost of £1.50
per family.
THE SCOTTISH REFORMATION
A series of talks and discussions on the Reformation will be given in Saint
Bride's Church, West Kilbride on Wednesday evenings from 7.30 to 9.00
pm. The remaining dates are 25 May and 22 June. The six speakers, men and
women, include people from both the Reformed and Catholic traditions. If you
are interested, please go along. If you remember, please let Father Boland
know on joe-boland@btconnect.com. Details are on the poster.
PARK CHURCH CONCERT
Park Church Mission Committee is organising a concert on Friday 3 June with
an evening of 50s, 60s, and 70s music performed by Bert McCool and his group
Barbers' News in the church hall. Tickets can be obtained at the door on the
night and are priced at £2.50. Light refreshments are included and the
proceeds will go to Messy Church.
FUTURE EVENTS
The following events are being planned.

- 16 October - Sacrament of the Sick in Saint
Mary's Church, Largs
- 30 October - Youth Event in Saint
Matthew's Academy, Saltcoats

the 10.30 am Mass outwith holidays, there is a Children’s Liturgy provided
for preschool children, children in Primaries 1 to 3 and a Sacramental Programme
for children in Primary 4. After the 10.30 am Mass, tea, coffee cakes and
buns are available in the Parish Centre. At both of our weekend Masses, we
have a second collection for Church maintenance.
ADVERTISER SUPPORT
Our advertisers would welcome your support. We are grateful for their continuing
sponsorship. We are grateful for the support of Mr and Mrs Sohal, Nisa Stores,

teas.
PROTECTION OF CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS - MISSION STATEMENT
The Catholic Church in Scotland is concerned with the lives, safety, wholeness
and well-being of each individual person within God's purpose for everyone.
It seeks to safeguard the welfare of people of all ages who are involved in
whatever capacity with
the Church and its organisations. As a Church community, we accept that it
is the responsibility of all of us, ordained, professed, paid and
voluntary members, to work together to prevent the physical, sexual, emotional
abuse or neglect of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
