SUNDAY MASS TIMES
Sunday Mass times
in Saint Peter's are 5.30 pm Vigil and 10.30 am. Sunday
Mass times in other local parishes can be
seen here.
SACRAMENT OF FORGIVENESS
The Sacrament of Forgiveness is available at any suitable time as well as
from 4.30 pm before the Vigil Mass on Saturday evenings.
HOSPITAL
CHAPLAINCY
If a member of your family or a friend is sick, please let us know and give
us the details. Deacon Bill Corbett (01292 521208, 07904 248948, Rev.BillCorbett@btinternet.com)
is the chaplain to Crosshouse Hospital and is assisted by the priest on call
each week. Canon Pat Keegans (01292 263488) is the chaplain to Ayr Hospital
and the Ayrshire Hospice.
FINANCES
Bankers Orders for the Parish and Parish Centre amount to £3800 per
month. Every month, we pay a levy of £1450 to the Diocese. We are grateful
for your generous support in collections. If you can manage a little more
from time to time, it would be a great help. A Standing Order would make the
handling of money so much easier. Have you signed a Gift Aid form? If you
are a taxpayer the Church would get 25p added to every £1 you donate.
COLLECTIONS
Last weekend's Offertory collection amounted to £648.73 and the Maintenance
Fund collection to £300.79 - many thanks.
GIFT AID
The Inland Revenue now requires us to use a new style of Gift
Aid form. These are available at the back of the Church and on the parish
website. If you pay tax, please complete the new form and return it to the
box provided. This allows us to provide the additional information required
on the Gift Aid claim. Gift Aid is a vital source of income. All that is needed
is that you pay tax. You simply declare that you give funds to the Church.
We do the rest. Why not sign a form today? We get back an extra 25p for every
£1 you give the Church in your weekly collection or by way of a donation.
There is no need to cancel or renew it. We simply claim in the income we receive.
PARISH RECORDS
Our parish records are covered by the Data Protection Act and are for parish
use only. We cannot give out phone numbers or addresses. Please help us to
keep our records up to date using the cards provided.
READERS
Next weekend's readers are Harry Sammons at 5.30
pm and Alfie Agostini and Georgette Lapina at 10.30 am.
ALTAR SERVERS
Next weekend's altar servers are Group 1 at 5.30
pm and Group 3 at 10.30 am.
CHILDREN’S
LITURGY
The
Children's Liturgy restarts in September when it is celebrated during the
10.30 am Sunday Mass.
SUNDAY
TEAS
Next
Sunday's teas will be served by Sharon McLaughlin's team. Would
you consider making a team or joining a team that organises the teas and coffees
after Sunday 10.30 am Mass? If so, please leave your details at the Parish
Office or telephone 01294 464063.
SOLEMNITY OF SAINTS PETER AND PAUL
Wednesday is the Solemnity of Saints Peter and Paul and is a Holiday of Obligation.
Vigil Mass will be celebrated here and in Saint
John’s at 7.00 pm. There will be a 10.00 am Mass here and in Saint
Mary's. At 11.30 am, there will be Mass in Saint
John’s and at 7.00 pm, Mass in Saint
Mary's.
MARY'S
MEALS
Thanks to all the people who donated items for Mary's
Meals Backpack Appeal. We continue to collect all items listed on the
leaflet but are particularly looking for summer shorts, t-shirts, skirts,
dresses, flip-flops and backpacks for children aged between four and twelve.
These can be new or used in good condition. Please put any items you wish
to donate into the blue container in the Church porch and pick up the 2016
magazine to see how the work is progressing. There is also a leaflet with
the full list of items required. Thank you.
SAINT PETER'S SCHOOL COOKBOOK
Saint
Peter's Primary School Parent Council has worked closely with the pupils
and staff of Saint Peter's to produce a fundraising Cookbook to celebrate
the school's twentieth anniversary. The Cookbook costs £5 and will be
available to buy after both Masses next weekend. For more information, please
call Michelle on 07846 399252.
CHURCH DOORS
The side door is fitted and the front doors should only be a few weeks. Before
another winter hits us, we need to replace the front doors. They swell badly
in the rain and are impossible to open and shut properly. Because the Church
is an A-Listed building, more durable replacement doors need to be specially
made. This is being done but the total cost of main and side doors will be
over £10000. I need to make an appeal to you for help. Brown envelopes
will be available and any fundraising you can organise will be extremely useful.
Extra in the second collection is a perfect way of helping. So far, donations
total £3318.
CLOTHING APPEAL IN AID OF CHERNOBYL CHILDREN'S LIFELINE
We will have another group of twelve girls coming from the Ukraine to Ayrshire
in August for four weeks. Some of these children have again been selected
because they either have parents in the military fighting in the East of Ukraine
or they have been displaced due to the war so they all need our help more
than ever. We are looking to make up a bag pack for each child when they arrive
so we need donations of new pyjamas, underwear, socks, leggings, t-shirts,
to fit girls aged between nine and thirteen years. We also need felt pens,
coloured pencils, pencil cases, hair brushes, hair clips, bobbles et cetera.
Any financial help would be greatly appreciated. I thank you in advance for
your continued support of my charity and I hope you get the chance to meet
the children when they visit Saint
John’s Church, Stevenston. If you have anything to donate or would
be interested in finding out more about the charity, please contact Michael
or Lisa Lafferty on 01294 461234 or 07813 650411. Michael
Lafferty
YEAR OF MERCY

Blessed John Duns Scotus, Ballater Street, Glasgow on Saturday 2 July 2016

KIRKGATE PARISH CHURCH, SALTCOATS
As part of Kirkgate
Parish Church's one hundred and fiftieth anniversary celebrations, from
Monday 11 to Saturday 16 July there will be daily thirty minute Lunchtime
Organ Recitals by Jim Grant and Stuart McMahon in the church at 12 noon. The
recitals are free and will feature a programme of mainly light and popular
music and are intended to be informal. Stay for a couple of pieces, wander
about or listen to it all whilst maybe even eating your lunch!
COLLECTION ENVELOPES
New collection envelopes are still available at the stall.
FUTURE EVENTS
The following events are being planned.

VISITORS
Are you visiting us for Mass? Please know that you are very welcome. During
the 10.30 am Mass outwith holidays, there is a Children’s Liturgy provided
for preschool children, children in Primaries 1 to 3 and a Sacramental Programme
for children in Primary 4. After the 10.30 am Mass, tea, coffee cakes and
buns are available in the Parish Centre. At both of our weekend Masses, we
have a second collection for Church maintenance.
ADVERTISER SUPPORT
Our advertisers would welcome your support. We are grateful for their continuing
sponsorship. We are grateful for the support of Mr and Mrs Sohal, Nisa Stores,
Glasgow Street for the weekly donation of tea, coffee and milk for the Sunday

PROTECTION OF CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS - MISSION STATEMENT
The Catholic Church in Scotland is concerned with the lives, safety, wholeness
and well-being of each individual person within God's purpose for everyone.
It seeks to safeguard the welfare of people of all ages who are involved in
whatever capacity with
the Church and its organisations. As a Church community, we accept that it
is the responsibility of all of us, ordained, professed, paid and
voluntary members, to work together to prevent the physical, sexual, emotional
abuse or neglect of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
