SUNDAY MASS TIMES
Sunday Mass times in Saint Peter's are 5.30 pm Vigil and 10.30 am. Sunday Mass times in other local parishes can be seen here.

SACRAMENT OF FORGIVENESS
The Sacrament of Forgiveness is available at any suitable time as well as from 4.30 pm before the Vigil Mass on Saturday evenings.

HOSPITAL CHAPLAINCY
If a member of your family or a friend is sick, please let us know and give us the details. Deacon Bill Corbett (01292 521208, 07904 248948, Rev.BillCorbett@btinternet.com) is the chaplain to Crosshouse Hospital and is assisted by the priest on call each week. Canon Pat Keegans is the chaplain to Ayr Hospital and the Ayrshire Hospice.

FINANCES
Bankers Orders for the Parish and Parish Centre amount to £3800 per month. We are grateful for your generous support in collections. If you can manage a little more from time to time, it would be a great help. A Standing Order would make the handling of money so much easier. Have you signed a Gift Aid form? If you are a taxpayer the Church would get 25p added to every £1 you donate.

COLLECTIONS
Last weekend's Offertory collection amounted to £642.42 and the collection for the Franciscan Sisters of the Immaculate Conception to 1220.26 - many thanks.

GIFT AID
The Inland Revenue now requires us to use a new style of Gift Aid form. These are available at the back of the Church and on the parish website. If you pay tax, please complete the new form and return it to the box provided. This allows us to provide the additional information required on the Gift Aid claim. Gift Aid is a vital source of income. All that is needed is that you pay tax. You simply declare that you give funds to the Church. We do the rest. Why not sign a form today? We get back an extra 25p for every £1 you give the Church in your weekly collection or by way of a donation. There is no need to cancel or renew it. We simply claim in the income we receive.

PARISH RECORDS
Our parish records are covered by the Data Protection Act and are for parish use only. We cannot give out phone numbers or addresses. Please help us to keep our records up to date using the cards provided.

READERS
Next weekend's readers are Ronnie Cairns at 5.30 pm and Tom Reid at 10.30 am.

ALTAR SERVERS
Please could all Altar Servers collect the new rota from the sacristy? Could you please leave either an email or postal address for future rotas as due to unforeseen circumstances information previously held is unavailable to us. Next weekend's altar servers are Group 1 at 5.30 pm and Group 4 at 10.30 am.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY
As we begin our new term of Children's Liturgy, we would like to welcome all nursery and primary 1 to 3 children to join us during the 10.30 am Sunday Mass. Our Primary 4 group will begin in October after their Presentation Sunday which will be arranged soon.
Next week's helpers are Jacqueline Waugh and Emma Paterson for the pre-fives and Frances Gemmell, Gayle Paterson and Andrena Hughes for Primaries 1, 2 and 3.

SUNDAY TEAS
Next Sunday's teas will be served by the Caritas team. Would you consider making a team or joining a team that organises the teas and coffees after Sunday 10.30 am Mass? If so, please leave your details at the Parish Office or telephone 01294 464063.

CANON MATT HOLIDAY
Canon Matt is on holiday from 29 August to 23 September. The parish office will be staffed as usual during office hours from 8.30 am to 5.00 pm on weekdays. Neighbouring parishes will be assisting and Father John Kinsler will cover the weekend Masses. Canon Pat McSorley will say a morning Mass on two Fridays and Father Kinsler will say a morning Mass on two Wednesdays. The Bulletin will give information each week as will the website. Masses will be offered elsewhere for Cathie Middle, Ian Colville and Annie McCormick.

BISHOP NOLAN
Bishop William continues to make good progress and hopes to return to duty soon.

CONGRATULATIONS TO CANON SANDY
Congratulations to the Reverend Sandy Montgomerie of Saint Andrew's Episcopal Church who has been named a Canon of the Diocese of Glasgow and Galloway.

EMBRACING CHANGE
As a deanery, we are looking to recruit a small number of people to refresh the Steering Group of the Embracing Change process. The Steering Group sits alongside the other Embracing Change Groups - Spirituality, Outreach to the Poor, Formation for Ministry et cetera - and ensures that Groups are adhering to the overall Embracing Change aim and tackling their particular remit effectively. The Steering Group should be a driving force and a critical friend that is constructive and candid. Steering Group membership assumes as 'given' an active Faith, an understanding and a commitment to the Embracing Change process and an awareness of 'the bigger picture'. In particular we especially need people who can animate and energise groups. If you would be willing to be considered for this role, please speak to your parish priest by 28 August, or if you are unable to, please contact the Dean, Canon Martin Poland on 01294 463225 or MartindPoland@gmail.com. Thank you.

MARY'S MEALS
Thank you for the many donations, of items and cash, for the Mary's Meals Backpack appeal. We will soon be in a position to fill more than a hundred further backpacks to send to Malawi. To this end, we need the following items - hand towels, coloured pencils, pencil cases, sharpeners, jotters, small balls, dessert spoons and toothpaste. If you would like to donate any items please leave them in the box in the Church porch. Thank you again for your generosity.

MUSIC WORKSHOP
A music workshop is being arranged by Galloway Music Network on Saturday 24 September at the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Onthank, Kilmarnock from 10.30 am - 3.00 pm. There will be three sessions during the day - on managing unaccompanied singing, music for Advent and singing straightforward psalms settings. There will be plenty of opportunity for discussion and the sharing of ideas. This event is being organised for anyone with an interest in parish music. A light lunch will be provided. For more information contact Nicola Lawrence on 0141 886 7963. Booking forms are available from the diocesan website at www.GallowayDiocese.org.uk or Michael McCulloch.

50/50 CLUB
Three new 50/50 Club members joined in July and we ask those members who have not yet renewed for 2016 to let us know if they still wish to continue their membership. We welcome new members at any time and appreciate their continued support. The Promoter is Mrs Myriame Sammons on 469006.

LOURDES GROUP BINGO
The Lourdes Group's next fundraiser is a Bingo on Friday 9 September at 7.00 pm for 7.30 pm in the Parish Centre. All are welcome. A Tea ticket costs £1 and Bingo books can be purchased on the night. Adults and children are welcome. Committee members are selling tickets or they can be obtained from Harry on 469006, Pam on 601575 or Margaret in the Parish Office on 464063.

NATIONAL PILGRIMAGE TO CARFIN
The national pilgrimage to Carfin in honour of Saint Margaret and to mark the Year of Mercy takes place on Sunday 4 September. Mass will be celebrated at 3.00 pm. The Sacrament of Reconciliation will be available between 12 noon and 2.00 pm.

SAINT PETER'S CHILDREN'S CENTRE
Saint Peter's Children's Centre has re-opened on Mondays and Fridays at 8.50 am for the nursery class, 1.00 pm for the two to three class and at 9.30 to 11.30 am for the toddler group. Funded places available for immediate start for children aged three years or over. Children who are three before 28 February 2017 can register for a place now. For further information, please call Josephine Coulter on 473030 or 602179.

SAINT PETER'S RAINBOWS AND BROWNIES
The Monday night Rainbows and Brownies returned on Monday 22 August at the usual times. Rainbows run from 5.30 to 6.30 pm and Brownies from 6.30 to 8.00 pm. We welcome the girls back and hope they enjoyed the holidays. Any girls wishing to join, please be aware we have a long waiting list and parents should contact Leaders in charge to make arrangements to join. Rainbows should contact Mary Anne Gibson and Brownies Cecilia Walsh on Facebook: Ardrossan - Saint Peter's Rainbows and Brownies.

CHURCH DOORS
Both the side and front doors are now fitted. Because the Church is an A-Listed building, more durable replacement doors needed to be specially made at a cost of over £10000. I need to make an appeal to you for help. Brown envelopes will be available and any fundraising you can organise will be extremely useful. Extra in the second collection is a perfect way of helping. So far, donations total £4583.

FUTURE EVENTS
The following events are being planned.
   - 16 October - Sacrament of the Sick in Saint Mary's Church, Largs
   - 30 October - Youth Event in
Saint Matthew's Academy, Saltcoats
   - 28 November - Closing of the Year of Mercy in Saint Brigid's Church, Kilbirnie

VISITORS
Are you visiting us for Mass? Please know that you are very welcome. During the 10.30 am Mass outwith holidays, there is a Children’s Liturgy provided for preschool children, children in Primaries 1 to 3 and a Sacramental Programme for children in Primary 4. After the 10.30 am Mass, tea, coffee cakes and buns are available in the Parish Centre. At both of our weekend Masses, we have a second collection for Church maintenance.

ADVERTISER SUPPORT
Our advertisers would welcome your support. We are grateful for their continuing sponsorship. We are grateful for the support of Mr and Mrs Sohal, Nisa Stores, Glasgow Street for the weekly donation of tea, coffee and milk for the Sunday teas.
