THE POWER OF THE ROSARY
The word Rosary means Crown of Roses. Our Lady has revealed to several people that each time they say a Hail Mary they are giving her a beautiful rose and that each complete Rosary makes her a crown of roses. The rose is the queen of flowers and so the Rosary is the rose of all devotions and it is therefore the most important one. The Holy Rosary is considered a perfect prayer because within it lies the awesome story of our salvation. With the Rosary, in fact, we meditate the mysteries of joy, of sorrow and the glory of Jesus and Mary. It's a simple prayer, humble so much like Mary. It's a prayer we can all say together with Her, the Mother of God. With the Hail Mary we invite Her to pray for us. Our Lady always grants our request. She joins Her prayer to ours. Therefore it becomes ever more useful because what Mary asks She always receives. Jesus can never say no to whatever His Mother asks for. In every apparition, the heavenly Mother has invited us to say the Rosary as a powerful weapon against evil, to bring us to true peace. With your prayer made together with Your heavenly Mother, you can obtain the great gift of bringing about a change of hearts and conversion. Each day, through prayer, you can drive away from yourselves and from your homeland many dangers and many evils. It can seem a repetitive prayer but instead it is like two sweethearts who many times say one another the words "I love you". The Blessed Holy Father John Paul II on 16 October 2002 with the Apostolic Letter Rosarium Virginis Mariae on the Most Holy Rosary has added five new mysteries of the Rosary - the Mysteries of the Light. "Say the Rosary every day. Pray, pray a lot and offer sacrifices for sinners. I'm Our Lady of the Rosary. Only I will be able to help you. In the end, My Immaculate Heart will triumph." Please remember, the Prayer of the Rosary is prayed every day before Mass during the week starting around 9.35am. Everyone is welcome!

JUST FOR A LAUGH …
Here are some of the funny things that you can read in parish bulletins.
• Everyone is excited about the upcoming wedding of Steve and Melody. They are having a country style wedding. Everyone is invited to join them as they exchange cows in the church courtyard on 7 June.
• Remember, we'll be gathering with other area Churches for the singing in the park on Sunday night. I want to remind the choir and all sinners to be at the park by 4.30pm. for a warm-up and sound checks.

POPE FRANCIS ASKS US TO PRAY THE ROSARY DAILY
Pope Francis, on 7 October 2018 - the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary - renewed his call for daily praying of the Rosary during October. "Today, the Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, I renew the invitation to pray the Rosary every day of the month of October, ending with the antiphon 'Under your protection' and the Prayer of Saint Michael the Archangel, to reject the attacks of the devil, who wants to divide the Church."

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
Imagine that you had won the following prize in a contest. Each morning your bank would deposit £86400 in your private account for your use. However, this prize has rules, just as any game has certain rules. The first rule would be that everything that you didn't spend during each day would be taken away from you. You may not simply transfer money into some other account. You may only spend it. Each morning upon awakening, the bank opens your account with another £86400 for that day. The second rule is sthat the bank can end the game without warning. At any time it can say that its over, the game is over! It can close the account and you will not receive a new one. What would you personally do? You would buy anything and everything you wanted? Not only for yourself, but for all people you love? Even for people you don't know, because you couldn't possibly spend it all on yourself? You would try to spend every penny and use it all, right? Actually, this game is reality! Each of us is in possession of such a magical bank. We just can't seem to see it. The magical bank is time! Each morning we awaken to receive 86400 seconds as a gift of life and when we go to sleep at night, any remaining time is not credited to us. What we haven't lived up that day is forever lost. Yesterday is forever gone. Each morning, the account is refilled but the bank can dissolve your account at any time - without warning. So, what will you do with your 86400 seconds? Those seconds are worth so much more than the same amount in pounds. Start spending. Choose wisely!

GIFT AID
The Inland Revenue now requires us to use a new style of Gift Aid form. These are available at the back of the Church and on the parish website. If you pay tax, please complete the new form and return it to the box provided. This allows us to provide the additional information required on the Gift Aid claim. Gift Aid is a vital source of income. All that is needed is that you pay tax. You simply declare that you give funds to the Church. We do the rest. Why not sign a form today? We get back an extra 25p for every £1 you give the Church in your weekly collection or by way of a donation. There is no need to cancel or renew it. We simply claim in the income we receive.
