SAINT ANNE'S GUILD
The
Saint Peter's Branch of Saint Anne's Guild was founded in 1947 by Annie Marron
(1902-1986) and her sister Theresa Marron (1911-1992). The first meetings place
were
above their shop in Princes Place. The Guild has been active ever since.
Meetings take place on Tuesday evenings in the Parish Centre.
The
photograph on the left shows members of the Guild with Father
Charles Matthews in 1956. This and other photographs of Saint Anne's Guild
are on the Pictures
page.
Saint
Anne was the mother of Our Lady. The Guild is a world-wide organisation for women
with the purpose of providing help and financial support to the Church and wider
community.
