SUNDAY COLLECTION
Last weekend's collection amounted to £749.30. We are grateful for your generous support of the Parish. Banker's Orders amount to an average of £4300 per month.

BANKER'S ORDERS, GIFT AID AND WILLS
Have you thought of using a Bankers Order? It assists us with the safe handling of cash. Have you signed a Gift Aid Form? If you pay tax, then every £1 you give to the Parish is worth £1.28 to us. Would you consider remembering Saint Peter's in your will?

COMMUNICATIONS SUNDAY COLLECTION
Last weekend's collection for Communications amounted to £501.87 - many thanks.

CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to the boys and girls of our Parish who are being confirmed this weekend and will receive Holy Communion for the first time. They are Ailís, Georgia, Caitlin, Mary, Jordan, Michael, Sofia, Lennon, Jon and Rachel. May they and their families have a happy day. We apologise to Euan Cummins, our Primary 6 violinist whose name appears on the Worship Sheet as Jamie - sorry.

READERS
Next weekend's readers are Elsie Brodie, Annie Watt and Alfie Agostini.

FINANCE
Many thanks to those who have already asked for new Standing Order forms, or increased your collections.

SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY COFFEE MORNING
Saint Peter's Conference of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society will have a Coffee Morning on Saturday 17 May. There will be various stalls as well as a prize raffle. Donations for any of the stalls, for example, baking, books and bric à brac, as well as prizes for the raffle will be most welcome and can be notified to any member of the Conference. This year the Conference plans to donate the proceeds of the Coffee Morning to the Ozanam Centre for the Homeless in Glasgow.

THREE TOWNS CHURCHES CRUISE
A charity evening cruise on the Waverley has been arranged for Wednesday 18 June with profits going to the Vine Trust for work in Peru. The Waverley will leave Ardrossan Harbour at 6.15 pm for a cruise round Rothesay Bay with a stop at Millport and return to Ardrossan around 9.30 pm. Tickets cost £18 for adults and £8 for children.

3TFM
Please support our local radio station. If you would like to be involved or to know more, please phone Lewis on 604612 for information. Saint Peter's will have a slot on 'Thought for the Day' from time to time.

BULLETIN AND WORSHIP SHEETS
Notices for inclusion in the Bulletin need to be here by Thursday of each week. After Mass, we would be grateful if you would return the worship sheets to the boxes for the next Mass.

SCOTTISH CATHOLIC INTERNATIONAL AID FUND (SCIAF) BOXES
Please continue to use SCIAF boxes throughout the year or make a box of your own. Please hand in any donations for forwarding to SCIAF for our poorest brothers and sisters.

NEW CHILD PROTECTION BOOKLETS
All who have a signed a Disclosure Form to work in Children's Liturgy,
Saint Vincent de Paul Society, Legion of Mary and so on should have the new Guidance Booklet. If not, please collect one from Annie Watt.

IGNATIAN PRAYER GROUP
The Ignatian Prayer Group meets in the Parish Centre on the first Wednesday of the month at 7.30 pm, the second Tuesday at 7.30 pm and the last Tuesday at 2.00 pm.

THURSDAY CLUB
The members of the Thursday Club thank you for your support of their recent Coffee Afternoon. A total of £600 was raised due to your generosity.

PRAYER PARTNERS OF THE PRIMARY FOUR CHILDREN
The
Thursday Club members who are Prayer Partners will present each child receiving the Sacraments with a copy of the Holy Bible.

PROTECTION OF CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS - MISSION STATEMENT
The Catholic Church in Scotland is concerned with the lives, safety, wholeness and well-being of each individual person within God's purpose for everyone. It seeks to safeguard the welfare of people of all ages who are involved in whatever capacity with the Church and its organisations. As a Church community, we accept that it is the responsibility of all of us, ordained, professed, paid and voluntary members, to work together to prevent the physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

SAINT PETER'S PARISH CENTRE
To book the Parish Centre, please phone Fiona or Michael. Because of licensing laws, the Centre cannot be booked for eighteenth or twenty-first birthda
y parties. The charge for an evening function is £100; for a day-time function, £15 per hour and the fee for a licence is £25 including service charges.

GUIDES FUNDRAISING FETE
The Guides are having a fete in the Parish Centre on Saturday 31 May. Details will follow later.

SAINT PETER'S CHILDREN'S CENTRE
Afternoon places are available in Saint Peter's Nursery starting in August 2008. For more information and an application form, please contact Josephine Coulter.

SPRING SONGS
There will be an evening of music featuring our parishioner, Theresa Coulter with Marie Claire Breen, Jamie Munn and soloists from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Saint Peter's Church on Friday 23 May at 7.30 pm. Tickets, costing price £5 and £4 concession, are available at the door.

CATHOLIC NEWSPAPERS
Each week, we have copies of the Scottish Catholic Observer and The Universe available for sale. They are informative on events happening in the Catholic world in Scotland and the rest of the world. Perhaps you could reserve your copy at the stall. This would ensure that we order enough and not too many.

HOLIDAY
Canon Matt is on from Monday to Thursday of this week.
Father Gabriel is presently in Uganda. Father Jim Hayes (463641) or Father Martin Polland (463225) are available. I am planning to go to the Biblical city of Ephesus in Turkey. Saint Paul visited and lived in Ephesus at least twice and he wrote a famous Letter to the Ephesians. Timothy preached Christ to the citizens of Ephesus (Paul's' Letter to Timothy). Priscilla and Aquila went to Ephesus with Paul (Acts of the Apostles 18:18). John, the Gospel writer, lived in Ephesus for about twenty years after the death of Jesus.

CHURCH GROUNDS
We pay to have our grass cut round the Church, Parish Centre and house but we could do with a little help to keep the weeds in order and to work a pressure washer. Do you need to fill a few hours each week? Please phone me.

WORLD YOUTH DAY BEETLE DRIVE
There will be a fundraising Beetle Drive for World Youth Day in Australia on Monday 26 May in the Parish Centre at 7.00 pm. Tickets cost £2 for adults and £1 for children and concessions. All are welcome.

50/50 CLUB
May payments for the 50/50 Club are now due to collectors or promoters. Please inform your promoter if you wish to withdraw your membership. A few places remain unpaid since January. The next draw is for four prizes of £25 and a bonus draw of £100. You need to be in it to win it.
