   and those who are sick.

OFFERTORY COLLECTION
Last weekend's Offertory collection amounted to £694.86. We are grateful for your generous support of the Parish. Banker's Orders amount to an average of £4000 per month.

BANKER'S ORDERS, GIFT AID AND WILLS
Have you thought of using a Bankers Order? It assists us with the safe handling of cash. Have you signed a Gift Aid Form? If you pay tax, then every £1 you give to the Parish is worth £1.28 to us. Would you consider remembering Saint Peter's in your will?

PARISH CENTRE COLLECTION
Last weekend's collection for the Parish Centre amounted to £320.15 - many thanks.

READERS
Next weekend's readers are Elsie Brodie at 5.30 pm, Angela Body at 10.00 am and Jim Delahunt at 12.00 noon. A new readers' rota has been sent out. New readers are always welcome. Please talk to Canon Matt about it.

EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS
We are short of special ministers of Holy Communion especially for the 12.00 noon Mass. Please give your name to
Canon Matt if you can help.

BURNS SUPPER
The Burns Supper will be held in the Parish Centre on Friday 13 February 2009. Tickets are on sale at the Parish Office. Ex-Provost Drew Duncan OBE will propose The Immortal Memory, Kenny Gibson MSP will propose the Toast to the Lassies and the reply will be given by Reverend Dorothy Granger of Barony Saint John's Church.
Canon Matt, Bill Andrew, George McGrattan and Ciaran Sinclar are among others taking part. Further details of this and previous Burns Suppers are on Saint Peter's website.

SUGGESTION LEAFLET
There is a leaflet which indicates the events we will try to organise and have room for suggestions. The Parish Centre is well used for private functions but there are few Parish functions and we need to remedy that if we are to make the Centre viable. You support it well with the second collection, so how about using it a bit more? We need the support.

PARISH RECORDS
The list we are using to find you all is from
Father Lynch's time and is pretty much out of date with people moving, changing phone numbers, newly moved in and so on. Would you oblige us by filling in a green address form and placing it in the box? If your phone number is ex-directory, please mark that. All information will be kept confidential. This means that you cannot phone here for someone's address - data protection does not allow that. Filling in the form is simply a polite request to assist us - you certainly do not have to do it.

AID TO THE CHURCH IN NEED
The Aid To The Church In Need assists the Church in Eastern Europe. Doctor John Watts is making an appeal in Saint Peter's next weekend.

50/50 CLUB
This is the weekend to sign up to the 50/50 Club for another year. All members are asked to renew their annual membership of £15. Myriame Sammons will be in the foyer of the Parish Centre after all the masses with the forms.

NURSERY ENROLMENT
Children born between 1 March 2005 and 28 February 2007 may be enrolled in Saint Peter's Children's Centre Parish Nursery from Monday 26 January to Thursday 29 January
between 9.30 and 11am then 1.00 and 2.30 pm. Birth certificates must be produced to ensure local authority funding.

FATHER MOTRONI TALKS
On Mondays 12, 19 and 26 January 2009, Father Stephen Motroni will give talks on Saint Paul in Saint Mary's Church Hall in Irvine from 7.30 to 9.30 pm. All are welcome as are donations to support Smithstone House Sacred Heart Fathers in Kilwinning.

CHILDREN'S LITURGY
A new Children's Liturgy rota has been sent to all helpers. Please remember to arrange cover if you are unable to attend. Please note that only volunteers with Disclosure from Saint Peter's are allowed to assist with the Children's Liturgy. Parents and grandparents are invited to bring the children but you cannot remain when other children are present if you have not filled in a Disclosure form. Sorry - we have to follow the regulations. We are struggling for helpers. If there are not enough, we will reluctantly have to consider closing the service. Volunteers cannot simply be recruited as they are required. We are subject to a strict regime from Disclosure Scotland. This means that all volunteers have to complete the form and then await clearance. We need some more volunteers to ensure that there is a rota and that you are not on too frequently. Please give your name to Annie Watt or
Canon Matt. If your child is due to receive the Sacraments next year, this would be a good time to volunteer! Do it today!

CONFIRMATION AND HOLY COMMUNION
Please add the names and dates of children due to be confirmed and receive First Holy Communion to the list in the porch.

SAINT ANNE'S GUILD
Saint Anne's Guild  will start again at the beginning of February.

BINGO NIGHT
The Thursday night Brownies and Guides are holding a Bingo Night on Thursday 29 January at 6.30 pm in the Parish Centre.

GALLOWAY LOURDES HOSPITALITÉ
The Annual General Meeting of
Galloway Lourdes Hospitalité, preceded by Mass with anointing of the sick, will be held on Sunday 15 February at 3.30 pm in Sacred Heart Parish, Girvan. Tea and coffee will be served after Mass. All are welcome.

PROTECTION OF CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS - MISSION STATEMENT
The Catholic Church in Scotland is concerned with the lives, safety, wholeness and well-being of each individual person within God's purpose for everyone. It seeks to safeguard the welfare of people of all ages who are involved in whatever capacity
with the Church and its organisations. As a Church community, we accept that it is the responsibility of all of us, ordained, professed, paid and voluntary members, to work together to prevent the physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
