OFFERTORY COLLECTION
Last weekend's Offertory collection amounted to £734.38. We are grateful for your generous support of the Parish. Banker's Orders amount to an average of £4000 per month.

BANKER'S ORDERS, GIFT AID AND WILLS
Have you thought of using a Bankers Order? It assists us with the safe handling of cash. Have you signed a Gift Aid Form? If you pay tax, then every £1 you give to the Parish is worth £1.28 to us. Would you consider remembering Saint Peter's in your will?

PARISH CENTRE COLLECTION
Last weekend's collection for the Parish Centre amounted to £340.55 - many thanks.

READERS
Next weekend's readers are Celia Andrew at 5.30 pm, Michael Clarke at 10.00 am and Harry Sammons and Marade Griffin at 12.00 noon.

FUNERAL CATERING
The Parish Centre is available for hire for funeral catering. Maria of the Cheery Cup, Glasgow Street, Ardrossan (469588) and Carol Ann of O'Really’s, Princes Street, Ardrossan (604333) can be available to cater. We cannot provide a drinks licence and we require enough time to cancel the use of the Centre by the Mother and Toddlers Group. Booking of the centre is via Fiona on 606424. Book the caterers is by direct contact. Arrangements for providing a drink can be made with the caterers but the bar is not available.

PEREGRINATIO PRO CHRISTO - JOURNEYING FOR CHRIST
The Legion of Mary is proposing a week’s visit of a team of Legion members to the parish from 4 to 11 July. The team - all of them from Ireland - will work and pray with local members of the Legion in our parish - visiting homes, meeting with people, gathering for Mass, meals and so on. We need some help. The team will consist of a priest and ten lay members. They are expected to pay their own way with regard to bed and breakfast accommodation so we need some places for them to stay. I can accommodate the priest but still need homes for four people. The team requires lunch and an evening meal in the Parish Centre. I need some groups - for example, a group of friends - who would provide a meal each evening for the Legion team. Some days are covered. Are there any other offers? We need help with a musical evening and with music for the Mass on the Friday evening. Everyone is welcome to the Mass and the social event. More information will be available as the planning develops.

MASS INTENTIONS
Every Mass you ask for is celebrated but not always here in Ardrossan.
Father John offers some Masses for us in Turin;
Father Gabriel in Largs, Father Theo in Uganda, Father Stephen in the Garrison Church in Bulworth and from 17 June in Afghanistan. The Code of Canon Law requires every Mass intention to be listed and the Mass should be offered within a month. On a Sunday, Mass must be offered for the parishioners and Funeral Masses must be offered for those who died. The Mass stipend you normally enclose is to used for the upkeep of the priest on the day he offers the Mass. The 'within a month' rule and the 'stipend for that day’s keep' rule is the reason why Mass obligations have to be transferred to another priest. Please continue to ask for Mass on a specific day but remember it is not always possible for the Mass to be offered here in Ardrossan or on the actual day you specify. I’ll do my best.

DIOCESAN SPECIAL RELIGIOUS EDUCATION (SPRED) GROUP BARBECUE AND MASS
The SPRED group is having a barbecue in the Church Grounds on Saturday 20 June from 3.00 to 5.00 pm followed by the annual SPRED Mass at 5.30 pm. Our normal Saturday Vigil Mass will be a very happy occasion for the Parish when we are able to invite so many of our special friends.

PARISH BARBECUE
It is hoped that we can have a Parish Barbecue before the schools reopen in August.
Canon Matt needs 'declarations of interest' from those willing to help on Saturday evening or Sunday afternoon in mid-August. We will have a planning meeting in a few weeks.

AFRICAN CHILDREN’S CHOIR
An Africal Children's Choir will be performing in Saint Cuthbert’s Parish Church, Saltcoats on Saturday 20 June at 7.30 pm. Tickets costing £5 are available from Reverend Brian Oxburgh on 602674,
StCuthberts100@bt.com or the Church. All are welcome.

D IN THE PARK
The Park Church Drama Group presents Children of the Highland Clearances on 19 and 20 June at 7.00 pm in the Park Church, Ardrossan. Tickets cost £3 and £2 for children and concessions are available from Aileen or at the door on the night.

CROSSHOUSE HOSPITAL
You can contact Reverend Deacon Gordon Tustin on 07515 698 180 to notify him if you or a family member is going into Crosshouse. The hospital is unable do it. A message will be passed on. If you or a family member is housebound, please let us know. Unless told, we don’t know about it.

50-50 CLUB
Fourteen places remain vacant so anyone wishing to join 50-50 Club should contact Mrs Sammons.

ARMED FORCES DAY 2009
The first Armed Forces Day is to be celebrated on 27 June this year and then on the following years. To mark the event,we are asked to keep the Church open that day so that people may be able to have a quiet place to pray for all who are - or have been - in the Armed Forces, especially remembering those serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Saint Peter’s is the designated Church for Ardrossan and will be open between 12 noon and 1.30 pm. There is a joint Service in the Evangelical Union Church, Glasgow Street, on Monday 22 June at 7.00 pm. Everyone is welcome to attend. Put it in your diary!

THURSDAY CLUB TRIP TO HARROGATE
The bus for the
Thursday Club trip to Harrogate leaves from the Church car park on Monday 22 June at 9.30 am.

CHILDREN’S LITURGY
We are in need of more volunteers for the Children’s Liturgy for the coming August session. As it takes a little time to gain disclosure, we need to think ahead. Please consider becoming a volunteer, especially if your child is currently in Primary 3 as they will be taking part in the Sacramental Preparation next year or if your child will be joining our Pre-5 Liturgy Group in August. If you are interested, please contact the Parish Office on 464063 or Annie Watt.

THANKS
Grateful thanks to Saint Clare for favours received. May the Sacred Heart of Jesus be praised, adored and glorified and loved today and every day throughout the world, Amen.
