READERS
Next weekend's readers are Pauline Taylor at 5.30 pm, Robert Cooper at 10.00 and Tom Reid at 12 noon. If you would consider becoming a Reader at Mass please speak to Canon Matt or the Parish Office on 464063. Thank you. We are especially short at the 10.00 am Sunday Mass.

The Children's Liturgy is offered during the 10.00 am Mass. The group who offer this service is always grateful to have new names on the rota. You must have disclosure before you can take part and that is easily arranged. Please phone Michelle in the Parish Office on 464063 on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday morning.

VISITORS
Are you visiting us for Mass on Sunday? During the 10.00 am Mass there is a Children’s Liturgy provided for preschool children, children in Primaries 1 to 3 and a Sacramental Programme for children in Primary 4. After the 10.00 am Mass, tea, coffee cakes and buns are available in the Parish Centre. At all of our weekend Masses, we have a second collection for our Parish Centre debt.

SUNDAY TEAS
The Sunday Teas groups have shrunk a little bit lately and two - or even one - new groups would be great. Is anyone willing to gather a few friends and become a Sunday Tea Group? The more groups the less often your turn comes round. Please contact
Canon Matt or the Parish Office on 464063.

A MESSAGE FROM THE BISHOPS’ CONFERENCE OF SCOTLAND
The General Election is only days away. The message the Bishops' Conference of Scotland sends you is this - Vote with your faith and promote the common good! Our manifesto comes from the Gospel of Jesus Christ, from the teaching of the Church and from the natural law of the true and the good which is written in the hearts and consciences of all human beings. There are many important issues riding on this election, such as the economy and security, immigration, the environment and others. But there is none so important as the moral core of this nation, which is the foundation of what is called 'the common good'. The genius of our faith is that it is hard-wired for the common good. That is why we say to you: Vote with your faith and promote the common good! Vote with your faith, and protect human life. Vote with your faith and support marriage and the family. Vote with your faith and protect religious freedom and freedom of conscience. Vote with your faith and protect freedom in education. In saying to you 'Vote for the common good', we ask you to think carefully before you cast your vote. Which candidate shares your core Christian values? Which candidate displays values closest to yours? Which candidate will best respect and protect your religious freedom and your freedom of conscience? Which candidate do you trust most to do a good job for you and your community? Voting this way gives us a chance to put the common good at the heart of politics. Dear brothers and sisters, as your bishops, it is not our intention to tell you which political party to vote for. It is our duty to encourage you to engage with the political process and to vote to promote the common good of everyone.

A NIGHT AT THE RACES
Ashley Brown and Declyn Hood invite you to join them for some Race Night fun and disco on Friday 7 May at 7.00 pm in Saint Peter’s Parish Centre. Funds raised will be for the Burakudo Karate Club trip to the World Championships in Brazil! Tickets costing £3 are available from Michael or Fiona on 606424. A light supper is included. All are welcome.

PROTECTION OF CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS - MISSION STATEMENT
The Catholic Church in Scotland is concerned with the lives, safety, wholeness and well-being of each individual person within God's purpose for everyone. It seeks to safeguard the welfare of people of all ages who are involved in whatever capacity
with the Church and its organisations. As a Church community, we accept that it is the responsibility of all of us, ordained, professed, paid and voluntary members, to work together to prevent the physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
