Have you signed a Gift Aid Form? If you pay tax, then every £1 you give to the Parish is worth £1.28 to us. Forms are available.

READERS

CONFIRMATION AND FIRST COMMUNION
Over the next two weekends, thirty of our children will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation and make their First Holy Communion at the 10.00 am Mass. Please keep them - and their families - in your prayers. We offer the families our congratulations.

PAPAL VISIT ARRANGEMENTS
Pope Benedict XVI will visit the United Kingdom from Thursday 16 to Sunday 19 September. The Pope will spend Thursday 16 in Scotland. He will celebrate Mass in Bellahouston Park, Glasgow in the early evening of that day - the only public event. The Office for the Papal Visit has written to say that tickets will be available, transport will be arranged, no private cars will permitted within 45 minutes walk of the Park, shuttle buses will bring people to and from the Park to the designated bus parking area. All of the arrangements have to be finalised with Glasgow City Council and Strathclyde Police. Full details will be made public soon and we are urged not to make any private arrangements until full information is available.

PAPAL VISIT COLLECTION
Although the Papal Visit is a state visit, there are heavy expenses for the Church. A special collection to offset these will be taken in every Church on Pentecost Sunday, 23 May.

CHILDREN'S LITURGY
The Children's Liturgy is offered during the 10.00 am Mass. The group who offer this service is always grateful to have new names on the rota. You must have disclosure before you can take part and that is easily arranged. Please phone Michelle in the Parish Office on 464063 on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday morning.

VISITORS
Are you visiting us for Mass? Please know that you are very welcome. During the 10.00 am Mass there is a Children’s Liturgy provided for preschool children, children in Primaries 1 to 3 and a Sacramental Programme for children in Primary 4. After the 10.00 am Mass, tea, coffee cakes and buns are available in the Parish Centre. At all of our weekend Masses, we have a second collection for our Parish Centre debt.

AN EVENING OF SIXTIES MUSIC
A Supper Dance with Pete Kerr has been arranged for Friday 4 June in the Parish Centre. There will be supper and a bar. Tickets cost £7.50 and are available now from the Parish Office. They can be reserved by phoning 464063 or by emailing

PARISH LOURDES GROUP
The Parish Lourdes Group is having a Prize Bingo in the Parish Centre on Friday 21 May at 7.00 pm. Entry costs £1 for adults and 50p for children. Tickets on sale now. Please see the notice in the Church porch or Parish Centre foyer. All are welcome and prizes or donations will be greatly appreciated. The contact numbers are 469006 and 601575.

THURSDAY CLUB COFFEE AFTERNOON
The
Thursday Club will have a Coffee Afternoon on Tuesday 25 May between 1.00 and 3.00 pm. Everyone is welcome. Tickets cost £1.50.

CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS - SAFEGUARDING AWARENESS AND TRAINING
A course on safeguarding awareness and training will be held on Sunday 16 May from 2.00 to 3.00 pm. New and present volunteers are invited to our new training programme in the Parish Centre. Updating training and raising awareness is mandatory for all volunteers whatever role they undertake, for example,
Saint Vincent de Paul Society, Children’s Liturgy and so on. Any other parishioners who would like to come along and join in our safeguarding procedures are most welcome.

RACE NIGHT THANKS
Ashely and Declyn thank everyone who attended the Race Nightto support their trip to the Karate World Championships in Brazil. It was a great success and £900 was raised. Many thanks.

DIOCESAN YOUTH COUNCIL
Father Martin Chambers would like to establish a Diocesan Youth Council. This parish could do with a couple of representatives - “young or old” in Father Martin’s words, to attend a meeting in Saint Matthew’s Parish, Kilmarnock, on Saturday, 5 June at 11.00 am. The meeting will last till 3.00 pm and lunch will be provided. Please let Canon Matt know if you are interested.

WORLD YOUTH DAY
The next World Youth Day is in Madrid, Spain from 16 to 21 August 2011. Hundreds of thousands of young people from every part of the world will gather to celebrate a Festival of Faith. Some of us went to Sydney in 2008, some to Cologne in 2005 and some to Toronto in 2002. The next World Youth Day is nearer home - in Madrid next year. ZUMBA FITNESS
Zumbe Fitness is the Latin-inspired, easy to follow, calorie burning fitness party. Come along every Wednesday at 7.00 pm in the Parish Centre and join the party! All are welcome.The cost is £3.50 per class.

GIVE BLOOD
The Blood Transfusion Service will visit Ardrossan Civic Centre in Glasgow Street on Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 May from 2.30 to 3.45 pm and 5.15 to 7.30 pm.

WORLD COMMUNICATIONS DAY
There will be a special collection for World Communication Day on the weekend of 5 and 6 June.

CLUB CUORI CARDOSINI SPRING DANCE
Club Cuori Cardisini will have a dance at South Beach Hotel, Troon on Saturday 22 May at 7.00 for 7.30 pm. There will be a four course dinner and music will be provide by Tony Palermo. Tickets, costing £25, are availabe by telephoning 608367 or 605376.

HCPT - THE PILGRIMAGE TRUST GROUP 207
The annual sponsored cycle will take place on Saturday 29 May. A member of our group will make a short appeal at the weekend Masses on 22 May. If you care to make a donation or sponsor us, members will be collecting in the Church porch. Our target for 2011 is £20000. Many thanks, Esther Coulter. Our Lady of Lourdes pray for us.

ARE YOU IN YOUR TWENTIES OR THIRTIES?
Groups of Catholics in their twenties and thirties organises trips, pilgrimages, discussions, meals, evenings out, Masses and so on. If you would like to find out more, come along to the thirties Mass on Saturday 8 May at 7.00 pm or the thirties Mass on Sunday 9 May at 11.00 am after which there will be a pub lunch. Masses are held in the Ignatian Spirituality Centre, 35 Scott Street, Glasgow, G3 6PE, off Sauchiehall Street There is no need to book - just turn up.
