PREPARATION FOR THE SACRAMENTS
At the Sunday 10.00 am Mass, the children who are beginning their preparation for the Sacrament of Forgiveness, Holy Communion and Confirmation will enrol for their time of preparation. Please pray for them and their parents and teachers.

RETIRED PRIESTS FUND COLLECTION
The second collection will be for the Retired Priests Fund this weekend. Gift Aid envelopes will available on your seat. Please use these envelopes if you are a taxpayer as we can reclaim tax paid on donations made under the Gift Aid Scheme. Thank you.

LEGION OF MARY
The
Legion of Mary meets weekly and prays for the parish. The members visit the sick and house-bound. The Legion can always do with new male and female members giving as much or as little time as they can afford. Speak to Canon Matt or any of the members.

AUTUMN EVENTS AT SMITHSTONE HOUSE
Details of spirituality evenings, scripture study afternoons and so on are on the notice board.


VISITORS
Are you visiting us for Mass? Please know that you are very welcome. During the 10.00 am Mass there is a Children’s Liturgy provided for preschool children, children in Primaries 1 to 3 and a Sacramental Programme for children in Primary 4. After the 10.00 am Mass, tea, coffee cakes and buns are available in the Parish Centre. At all of our weekend Masses, we have a second collection for our Parish Centre debt.

HILLHOUSE CARE - INNOCENTS
Any baby items, prams, cots, clothing for children from birth to 16 years or any goods that can be sold in the charity shop would be gratefully accepted by Hillhouse Care. A box is available at the stall for small items and toiletries for baby and mother. Please contact Frank or Josephine Coulter or phone 602179 for more information or uplift of goods. Thank you.

50/50 CLUB

PARISH LOURDES GROUP - SOCIAL EVENING
The Parish Lourses Group is holding a Social Evening on Saturday 25 September from 7.30 to 11.30pm in Parish Centre for adults only. The entertainment includes a quiz, supper, raffle, sing-song and bar. Tickets cost £5 from Committee Members or 469006. We would appreciate your support and help to take a sick pilgrim to Lourdes in next year's Diocesan Pilgrimage by attending the Social Evening and enjoying a night out at the same time. Tickets are on sale after all Masses this weekend in the Church porch or the Parish Centre foyer. Many thanks.

SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY COFFEE MORNING
Saint Peter’s Conference wish to express sincere thanks to everyone who supported our Coffee Morning by donating baking, raffle prizes, bric a brac, books and so on; to all who worked so hard by helping on the day and of course to everyone who came to support the event and to buy so generously. A grand total of £803.18 was raised. The Conference has agreed to round up this amount and each of the three Twin Conferences in India and one in South Africa will therefore receive £250. The
Saint Vincent de Paul Society meets weekly, assists with the passkeeping and collecting duties in Church and runs a telephone helpline for those in financial difficulty. We are currently seeking new male and female members. You must be over 18. Please speak to Canon Matt or any of the members.

A TASTE OF ITALY
A dinner dance - a partnership between the Italian Twinning Group and the parish - has been arranged for Friday 22 October at 7.30 pm. Details are on the posters and tickets costing £15 are available from the Parish Office on 464063. There will be a three course meal and music by Paolo and Angela. All are welcome, of whatever nationality.

SAINT PETER’S CHILDREN’S CENTRE
The Kindergarten has reopened. There are a few afternoon sessions available in the nursery. Please contact Josephine Coulter or phone 473030 for more information.

STAMPS FOR SAINT PATRICK’S MISSIONARY SOCIETY
There is a box by the stall door for all your stamps for Saint Patrick's Missionary Society. The proceeds from the stamps pays the salaries of catechists in various parts of Africa.

WORLD YOUTH DAY 2011 - MADRID
World Youth Day is an international festival of Catholic faith with Pope Benedict XVI and thousands of young people from all over the world. Hundreds of thousands of young people from every part of the world gather to celebrate a Festival of Faith. Some of us went to Sydney in 2008, some to Cologne in 2005 and some to Toronto in 2002. The next World Youth Day is nearer home in Madrid, Spain next year. You must be 16 by 31 December 2011 to be eligible. YOUTH FOR LOURDES
A group of young people from the diocese is travelling to Lourdes to assist the sick and then having a few days holiday together. The dates are 3 to 13 July 2011. Magnificat, the book of liturgies and events of the Papal Visit of Pope Benedict to the United Kingdom, is still available.
