OFFERTORY COLLECTION
Last weekend's Offertory collection amounted to £559.70 - many thanks.
We are grateful for your generous support of the parish and the diocese to
which we pay a monthly levy of £1250.
PARISH CENTRE COLLECTION
Last weekend's collection for the Parish Centre amounted to £329.10
- many thanks. Each month we pay off our Parish Centre debt by £3000.
BANKER'S
ORDERS
Have you thought of using a Bankers Order? It assists us with the safe handling
of cash. Banker's Orders for the Parish and Centre amount to an average of
£3800 per month. Forms are available.
GIFT AID
Have you signed a Gift Aid Form? If you pay tax, then every £1 you give
to the Parish is worth £1.28 to us. Forms are available.
WILLS
Would you consider remembering Saint Peter's in your will?

COLLECTION ENVELOPES AND STANDING ORDER FORMS
We are due to order the new envelopes soon. If you don’t have envelopes and
would like a set, please let us know. If you are able to start using a standing
order, again please let us know. Either way we are running on empty these
days and every bit of support is valuable.
SUNDAY TEAS
There are no Sunday teas this weekend. Next Sunday's teas will be
served by Annie Thompson's team.
CHILDREN'S LITURGY
There will be no Children's Liturgy on 2 January.

to our servers, musicians, sacristans, money counters, cleaners, readers,
Eucharistic Ministers and the whole army of dedicated workers who make this
parish run so smoothly to the Glory of God and the service of our parishioners.
CATHOLIC DIARY 2011
Catholic diaries for 2011 are available from the stall.
CHRISTMAS RAFFLE
The Christmas raffle raised £100. The proceeds will be split between
the Special Education Religious Education Group (SPRED) and the Parish Lourdes
Group. Many thanks for your support ot the stall and for all your support
throughout the year. Our friendly and dedicated staff look forward to your
custom during 2011,
GIFTS LEFT AT THE CRIB
Gifts left at the crib will be forwarded to Hillhouse Care in Kilmarnock,
successors to The Innocents along with the layettes provided by Saint Peter’s
School.
BURNS SUPPER
The
Burns Supper will take place on Saturday 12 February 2011. Angus Middleton,
President of the Robert Burns World Federation in 2006-2007, will deliver
The Immortal Memory. Angus is pictured right. Reverend Jim Smith, minister
of the Evangelical Union Church, Ardrossan, will propose the Toast to the
Lassies and Elizabeth McLardy, North Ayrshire councillor for Dalry and West
Kilbride will reply. Other participants are Bill Andrew, Angela Body, Canon
Matt, George McGrattan, Michael McCulloch, Ciaran Sinclair
and Peter Timmons. The Supper will start at the earlier time of 7.00 pm and
patrons are asked to be seated by 6.50 pm. Tickets cost £12.50 and must
be booked in advance though the Parish Office on 01294 464063. Patrons can
request group seating arrangements to be with friends and vegetarian meals
are available with notice as an alternative to the traditional Burns Supper
main course. More details can be seen on the Burns

PARISH PILGRIMAGE TO LOURDES 2011
The parish pilgrimage to Lourdes will be from Monday 4 to Friday 8 July 2011.
The costs are £413 for bed and breakfast, £448 for half board
and £490 for full board. We need to get and pay for a coach to and from
Manchester but there will be direct flights to and from Lourdes. This involves
an early start from Ardrossan. Anyone interested in joining the Group or who
would like to know more details, please contact Harry Sammons or phone 01294
469006. Booking forms are available now.
PRAYER REQUESTS
We have had a request from the Bishop of Sudan to pray for peace in their
country. The people are suffering very badly. Leaflets are available. There
is also an urgent request from the Holy Father that we pray for the Church
in China. There is renewed repression of the Church.
VISITORS
Are you visiting us for Mass? Please know that you are very welcome. During
the 10.00 am Mass there is a Children’s Liturgy provided for preschool children,
children in Primaries 1 to 3 and a Sacramental Programme for children in Primary
4. After the 10.00 am Mass, tea, coffee cakes and buns are available in the
Parish Centre. At all of our weekend Masses, we have a second collection for
our Parish Centre debt.
SAINT VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY
The Saint Vincent de Paul Society
meets weekly, assists with the passkeeping and collecting duties in
Church and runs a telephone helpline for those in financial difficulty. We
are currently seeking new male and female members. You must be over 18. Please
speak to Canon
Matt or any of the members.
SAINT
ANNE'S GUILD
Saint
Anne's Guild meets weekly on a Tuesday at 7.00 pm. It is
open to all women in the parish and beyond. Speak to any of the members and
feel free to join any of the meetings.
LEGION OF MARY
The Legion of Mary meets
weekly and prays for the parish. The members visit the sick and house-bound.
The Legion can always do with new male and female members giving as much or
as little time as they can afford. Speak to Canon
Matt or any of the members.
50/50 CLUB
The 50/50 Club is an important fund raiser for the parish. If you would like
to join, please contact the promoter, Myriame Sammons or phone 469006.

These charities are always in need of any help you can give them.
THE HOLY FATHER’S VISIT TO SCOTLAND 2010
Requested copies of the Papal Visit DVD have arrived. There should be a few
spare copies. The DVD costs £10.99 and is an ideal gift for anyone who
wants to remember an historic day for the Catholic community in Scotland.
PAINTING
Some
years ago, in the gallery, there was a painting
of Saint Peter receiving the Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven from Christ. It
was removed since it was falling into disrepair. Does anyone remember the
painting? Any idea who painted it or where it came from? Please let Canon

FAMILY HISTORY ENQUIRY
Patrick Donnelly from Ardrossan, the son of John Donnelly and Mary McCann,
was married in Saint Malachy's Roman Catholic Church in Fofanny, Kilcoo, Ireland
in 1899 to Margaret Rafferty. They may have moved back to Ardrossan. Any idea
who they were?
STANECASTLE SCHOOL PETITION
There is a petition to save Stanecastle School at the stall.
