SUNDAY COLLECTION
Last weekend's collection amounted to £761.02. We are grateful for your generous support of the Parish. Banker's Orders amount to an average of £4000 per month.

BANKER'S ORDERS, GIFT AID AND WILLS
Have you thought of using a Bankers Order? It assists us with the safe handling of cash. Have you signed a Gift Aid Form? If you pay tax, then every £1 you give to the Parish is worth £1.28 to us. Would you consider remembering Saint Peter's in your will?

PARISH CENTRE COLLECTION
Last weekend's collection for the Parish Centre amounted to £375.64 - many thanks.

READERS
Next week's readers are Elsie Brodie
at 5.30 pm, Angela Body at 10.00 am and Jim Delahunt at 12.00 noon.

ANNUAL CEMETERY MASS
The annual Cemetery Mass will be held today at 2.30 pm. It could be cold and wet. We will do the best we can whatever the conditions. Please do not feel that you have to be there. You could set aside a little time around 2.30 pm and join us in spirit, praying for all who died this year, all who are buried in the cemetery and all our friends and family members who are buried elsewhere.

ANNUAL MASS FOR THE BEREAVED
Holy Mass will be offered at 7.00 pm on Monday 24 November for all those who were bereaved during 2008. We offer Mass regularly - as we should - for those who have died. This Mass is offered for those who have suffered a bereavement this year. Come along and offer your prayers for your own needs, the needs of friends and all those who have suffered because of accidents, war, and other sad events of the year. Light a candle for those for whom you mourn.

NOVEMBER LISTS
November Lists are available at the back of the Church. During November, Holy Mass is offered for the souls of all our deceased relatives, friends, priests and fellow parishioners. The List is a way of taking time to remember people individually. Put the envelope in the collection, in the basket at the altar or leave it at the office or sacristy.

PARISH RACE NIGHT
The Parish Race Night was held last Friday. Very many thanks to all who supported this venture - our sponsors, those who bought tickets and came along, those who helped, those who 'bought' horses and donated prizes. £1250 was raised. The turnout was not great. Winter evenings don't encourage people to come out but a great night was had by those who came. Given that interest so far has been minimal, we will cancel the proposed Christmas Dance and concentrate on the Burns Supper early in February. An Italian Supper Night with music and songs is proposed for the early spring. There will be more information soon.

FATHER JOHN
We have sent £1500 to
Father John to help pay for his students' education in Arusha. He would like to thank everyone who has contributed and says he will pray for us.

THE STALL
A lovely selection of Christmas cards, card holders and Christmas gifts is available at the stall.

GIVE BLOOD
If you can never find the time to give blood, here it is - Wednesday 3 December from 2.30 to 3.45 pm and 5.15 to 7.30 pm in the Civic Centre, Glasgow Street, Ardrossan.

VERONA SISTERS' CALENDARS
The Verona Sisters will be here this weekend to sell their calendars at £1 each.

CHRISTMAS RAFFLE
Christmas raffle tickets at 50p each are on sale at the stall. The first prize is a Nativity Candle Bridge, the second prize is a nativity set, the third prize is a box of Christmas cards with card holder and the fourth prize is a box of chocolates. Proceeds will be divided between The Innocents and the HCPT 207 Group.

ARDROSSAN IN 2007 DVD

Ardrossan in 2007 is a DVD that takes the viewer on a two and a quarter hour journey through Ardrossan to see the town as it was in the year 2007. Every month from January to December, recordings were made to capture the town's scenes for posterity. The DVD features the Clyde Marina, Harbour, Arran Ferries, Castle Hill, Highland Games, South Beach, North Shore, Holm Plantation, Three Towns Bypass, all rail stations, churches and schools and many other scenes. You can be a 'passenger' on car journeys through the main streets and see many buildings old and new. Every scene is captioned. The DVD is available for sale at £5.50. After 50p has been deducted for the disc, wallet and inlay card, the profit of £5 per DVD will be given to a community project in Ardrossan or a local charity. The DVD might make an appreciated Christmas present for current or former Ardrossan residents. If you would like to buy a DVD, please contact George McGrattan. It is also available online by clicking here.

WORK ON THE CHURCH
Some work on the Church has started. The ceilings of the two aisles have been painted. The laying of the new carpet will begin shortly. I am making an appeal for 400 donations of £20 to cover the cost. I realise it is not a good time but if everyone has a hand in paying for the work, we will do it easily. Envelopes will be available - and if you are a taxpayer and fill in the details on the envelope - your £20 will becomes more than £25 under Gift Aid. You can put whatever you want in the envelope. £20 is only a suggestion. I am very grateful to all those who have contributed. The Race Night brought us to about half the cost so your help is still needed. The total to date is £4270.

PROTECTION OF CHILDREN AND VULNERABLE ADULTS - MISSION STATEMENT
The Catholic Church in Scotland is concerned with the lives, safety, wholeness and well-being of each individual person within God's purpose for everyone. It seeks to safeguard the welfare of people of all ages who are involved in whatever capacity with the Church and its organisations. As a Church community, we accept that it is the responsibility of all of us, ordained, professed, paid and voluntary members, to work together to prevent the physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
