John McKay and Joseph Lynn 1997 whose anniversaries occur at this time
   and those who are sick.
Information for the anniversary list is appreciated.

Last weekend's Offertory collection amounted to £710.19. We are grateful for your generous support of the Parish. Banker's Orders amount to an average of £4000 per month.

Have you thought of using a Bankers Order? It assists us with the safe handling of cash. Have you signed a Gift Aid Form? If you pay tax, then every £1 you give to the Parish is worth £1.28 to us. Would you consider remembering Saint Peter's in your will?

Last weekend's collection for the Parish Centre amounted to £312.81 - many thanks.

Next weekend's readers are Margaret Brogan at 5.30 pm, Michael Clarke at 10.00 am and Angela Body at 12.00 noon. A new readers' rota has been sent out. New readers are always welcome. Please talk to Canon Matt about it.

We are short of special ministers of Holy Communion especially for the 12.00 noon Mass. Please give your name to
Canon Matt if you can help.

The Burns Supper will be held in the Parish Centre on Friday 13 February 2009. Ex-Provost Drew Duncan OBE will propose The Immortal Memory, Kenny Gibson MSP will propose the Toast to the Lassies and the reply will be given by Reverend Dorothy Granger of Barony Saint John's Church.
Canon Matt, Bill Andrew, Theresa Coulter, George McGrattan, Ciaran Sinclar and Aimee Taylor are among others taking part. There are fewer than twenty tickets left. They are on sale at the Parish Office. If you are planning to go, please reserve a ticket on 464063 this week. Patrons are asked to be seated by 7.20 for a prompt start at 7.30 pm. Further details of this and previous Burns Suppers are on Saint Peter's website.

There is a leaflet which indicates the events we will try to organise and have room for suggestions. The Parish Centre is well used for private functions but there are few Parish functions and we need to remedy that if we are to make the Centre viable. You support it well with the second collection, so how about using it a bit more? We need the support.

50/50 CLUB
There is still time to join the 50/50 Club for another year or for the first time. The annual subscription is £15 or £5 three times a year. All proceeds are split 50/50 between winners and the parish. Myriame Sammons is the promoter and will assist you in renewing membership.

Children born between 1 March 2005 and 28 February 2007 may be enrolled in our nurseries during the coming week. Birth certificates must be produced to ensure local authority funding. Enrolment in Saint Peter's Children's Centre Parish Nursery take place between Monday 26 and Thursday 29 January at
9.30 to 11.00 am and 1.00 to 2.30 pm. Registration at Saint Peter's School Nursery will be by appointment at the following times:
   Monday  11.10 to 11.50 am
Tuesday  9.00 to 10.00 am and 1.45 to 2.35 pm
   Wednesday  9.00 to 10.00 am, 11.10 to 11.50 am and 1.45 to 2.45 pm.
Please call in person or by telephone 462554 to arrange an appointment.

On Mondays 12, 19 and 26 January 2009, Father Stephen Motroni will give talks on Saint Paul in Saint Mary's Church Hall in Irvine from 7.30 to 9.30 pm. All are welcome as are donations to support Smithstone House Sacred Heart Fathers in Kilwinning.

A new Children's Liturgy rota has been sent to all helpers. Please remember to arrange cover if you are unable to attend. Please note that only volunteers with Disclosure from Saint Peter's are allowed to assist with the Children's Liturgy. Parents and grandparents are invited to bring the children but you cannot remain when other children are present if you have not filled in a Disclosure form. Sorry - we have to follow the regulations. We are struggling for helpers. If there are not enough, we will reluctantly have to consider closing the service. Volunteers cannot simply be recruited as they are required. We are subject to a strict regime from Disclosure Scotland. This means that all volunteers have to complete the form and then await clearance. We need some more volunteers to ensure that there is a rota and that you are not on too frequently. Please give your name to Annie Watt or
Canon Matt. If your child is due to receive the Sacraments next year, this would be a good time to volunteer! Do it today! Please note that if you have not been 'disclosed' you cannot join the children at their Liturgy. You must simply leave them in the hall. If the children are unwilling to stay with the volunteers on duty, you might have to wait till they are older and able to do so. Older brothers and sisters cannot just go
with them. We have signed up to a strict policy that only those who have been “Disclosed” can be with the children and there can be no exceptions.

Please add the names and dates of children due to be confirmed and receive First Holy Communion to the list in the porch.

Saint Anne's Guild  will start again at the beginning of February.

The Thursday night Brownies and Guides are holding a Bingo Night on Thursday 29 January at 6.30 pm in the Parish Centre.

The Annual General Meeting of
Galloway Lourdes Hospitalité, preceded by Mass with anointing of the sick, will be held on Sunday 15 February at 3.30 pm in Sacred Heart Parish, Girvan. Tea and coffee will be served after Mass. All are welcome.

The Catholic Church in Scotland is concerned with the lives, safety, wholeness and well-being of each individual person within God's purpose for everyone. It seeks to safeguard the welfare of people of all ages who are involved in whatever capacity
with the Church and its organisations. As a Church community, we accept that it is the responsibility of all of us, ordained, professed, paid and voluntary members, to work together to prevent the physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
